Beneath your Beautiful

Beneath your Beautiful – Labrinth, featuring Emeli Sande

This has been stuck in my head off and on for quite some time now, so it’s about time I put it on my blog. It is a beautiful song, which I can relate to…

And the words released:

You tell all the boys no
Makes you feel good, yeah
I know you’re out of my league
But that won’t scare me away, oh, no
You’ve carried on so long
You couldn’t stop if you tried it
You’ve built your wall so high
That no one could climb it
But I’m gonna try

Would you let me see beneath your beautiful
Would you let me see beneath your perfect
Take it off now girl, take it off now girl
I wanna see inside
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight

You let all the girls go
Makes you feel good, don’t it?
Behind your Broadway show
I heard a voice say please don’t hurt me
You’ve carried on so long
You couldn’t stop if you tried it
You’ve built your wall so high
That no one could climb it
But I’m gonna try

Would you let me see beneath your beautiful
Would you let me see beneath your perfect
Take it off now boy, take it off now boy
I wanna see inside
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight
Oh, tonight

See beneath, see beneath,
I… Tonight
I…

I’m gonna climb on top your ivory tower
I’ll hold your hand and then we’ll jump right out
We’ll be falling, falling
But that’s okay
Cause I’ll be right here
I just wanna know

Would you let me see beneath your beautiful
Would you let me see beneath your perfect
Take it off now girl, take it off now girl
Cause I wanna see inside
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight
Tonight, see beneath your beautiful
Oh tonight, we ain’t perfect, we ain’t perfect
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight

Come What May

Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman – Come What May, from Moulin Rouge

Possibly one of the most tragically romantic musical moments ever in films … well films that I’ve seen anyway (she dies … shhhh). Love this.

The words released …

Never knew I could feel like this
Like I’ve never seen the sky before
I want to vanish inside your kiss
Every day I love you more and more

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace
Suddenly my life doesn’t seem such a waste
It all revolves around you

And there’s no mountain too high
No river too wide
Sing out this song and I’ll be there by your side
Storm clouds may gather
And stars may collide
But I love you, I love you
I love you until the end of time

Come what may
Come what may
I will love you until my dying day

wordspill and music

tonight’s a night for wordspill and music
only things I have of value
when everything else is doubt and uselessness is my refrain
I have these pages blank
with words and music running through my veins
nothing that can stop them as they flow
swooping around me in a waterfall of letters and notes
my head spins, my mind tumbles
the hurts inflicted on you cut my skin
your pain is my pain
it’s harsh and cold
and it’s breaking my heart
you lose yourself in your way
I’ll be right beside you dear
ready to catch you when you fall

Flaws

Flaws – Bastille

This song came on the radio and I just stopped. Well not literally as I was driving, but my mind and soul and heart stopped. This is so close to what I want to say. They stole my words. The only thing missing is that after picking ourselves undone, we will restitch ourselves together, and fill the holes in each-other’s souls. Flaws not removed, but lovingly known and named, and accepted.

And, of course, the words released:

When all of your flaws and all of my flaws
Are laid out one by one
A wonderful part of the mess that we made
We pick ourselves undone

All of your flaws and all of my flaws
They lie there hand in hand
Ones we’ve inherited, ones that we learned
They pass from man to man

There’s a hole in my soul
I can’t fill it I can’t fill it
There’s a hole in my soul
Can you fill it? Can you fill it?

You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve
And I have always buried them deep beneath the ground
Dig them up, let’s finish what we’ve started
Dig them up, so nothing’s left unturned

All of your flaws and all of my flaws,
When they have been exhumed
We’ll see that we need them to be who we are
Without them we’d be doomed

There’s a hole in my soul
I can’t fill it I can’t fill it
There’s a hole in my soul
Can you fill it? Can you fill it?

You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve
And I have always buried them deep beneath the ground
Dig them up, let’s finish what we’ve started
Dig them up, so nothing’s left unturned

Oooooh
Oooooh

When all of your flaws
And all of my flaws are counted
When all of your flaws
And all of my flaws are counted

You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve
And I have always buried them deep beneath the ground
Dig them up, Let’s finish what we’ve started
Dig them up, So nothing’s left unturned

Oooooh
Oooooh

All of your flaws and all of my flaws
Are laid out one by one
Look at the wonderful mess that we made
We pick ourselves undone
